Vocational Formation

CTC’s Vocational Formation programmes provide an opportunity for people of all ages with varying backgrounds and experiences to explore what God might be calling them into – and to provide pathways into paid roles in Church and community organising for those who discern a call to this.

Vocational discernment is listening intently to what God is saying through one’s life experiences, relationships, and prayer. In the busyness of life, we know how hard it can be to carve out time to be present to God and even harder to take a leap of faith and follow where God is leading us.

For this, we have created programmes that encourage and provide participants with tools to sit with, walk alongside, and listen to God. This is done primarily through retreats, seminars, supervisions and community organising.

We know that God does not call all of us to be the same; however, we believe that community organising as a methodology has something to offer for everyone.

While on our programmes, participants become trainee church-based organisers so that they can explore what aspects of organising might strengthen their overall discernment, vocation, and faith – including an exploration of ongoing employment in these fields of work.
