Holy Trinty Leytonstone

At Holy Trinity Leytonstone, we have been working with their food share, continuing the development of the relational culture, and through this intentionality, we have partnered with the skills within working on food insecurity and food fellowship in the form of the fellowship bus!

In addition to the food share, the holy trinity is a part of the neighbourhood collective that they helped to form, the Langthrone Park Collective. Its purpose is to build relationships and a relational culture and change the public perception in South Leytonstone. One of the areas of concern was safety. Through a series of conversations, an action was organised, building upon the work done already to push the issue of safety, particularly the safety of young people who wanted to access the park to get to the youth club in the park pavilion. Over 40 of us gathered during Christmas with 100 lanterns made by the local primary school, walking around areas of south Leytonstone that were dark because of poor lighting and singing Christmas carols. Through the pressure as a group we placed on those accountable, a flood flight was placed on the building.

Further collaboration of institutions in the area brought together the Langthrone festival for (the second year) running, where over 3000 people attended and the neighbourhood’s beauty was displayed. You can read more about it here.

We continue to listen and build relationships and know what will emerge in South Leytonstone.
